Summertime!

Hello! We hope everyone is staying safe, cool, and dry. Summer has most certainly arrived here in Myrtle Beach (I think Spring came and went overnight), and what a summer it will be!

Here is a fairly short and sweet update on what the summer is shaping up to be for us:

This week we finished recording our EP and sent the songs to be mixed and mastered last night. The goal is to have physical CDs and digital versions available by mid-June. The recording process is both exhilarating and exhausting, and we are glad to be close to the finish line for our first collaborative songwriting and recording endeavor. We are also launching a website to coincide with the release of the EP and we will share the details about that in the very near future. Thank you to everyone for your support and encouragement (and patience)!

Songwriting is something I had given up on about ten years ago and I am thankful that God has reignited a passion in my heart to write and record. Writing with Katie has been an amazing experience and I am thankful that we get to do this together. We are both tremendously blessed to be able to share so much of our work and ministry lives and experiences together.

In two weeks, we will travel with the Shiloh Place team to Tennessee for a "Heart of Sonship" house retreat. This will be the second house retreat Shiloh Place has hosted and we are thrilled to see what God is going to do. We value these times of being able to pour the overflow of the Father's love we have received into others' lives. It is a privilege to minister to people as they begin the journey of God's restoration in their lives and families over the course of a few days. Some of my favorite times leading corporate worship over the past 27 years take place in these spaces, and God continues to surprise and enthrall me with how He moves as we worship Him. I wish I could better express the joy and sense of purpose we feel during these encounters. I suppose the next best thing I can do is to suggest you attend one to find out for yourself.

In July Katie and I will be serving and working to help host the Vineyard Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference here in Myrtle Beach. Over 500 people from 37 regional Vineyard churches will be coming together for two-and-a-half days to connect, worship, learn, and relax at an oceanfront resort. Although we will both be "on the clock," we are looking forward to getting some refreshing and relaxation in during the time there.

As you can tell, there is a lot going on and much more on the horizon. Katie and I feel a sense of hope, purpose, and accomplishment - and we know that without the support of so many friends and family (that's you!) this would not be possible. We thank God for such an amazing group of people in our lives!

Here is a short list of our major current prayer requests and needs:

1. A new (to us) vehicle.

2. Full ministry funding (we are currently at about 30% of our monthly need).

If you would like to become a monthly or a one-time supporter, please let us know by emailing chip@shilohplace.org or visiting shilohplace.org/donate, click "Donate Now" and select "Chip and Katie Holt" as the recipients. All donations are tax-deductible.

As always, please connect with us on our Facebook group, by sending us a message, or commenting on this blog. We would love to know how we can pray for you!

God bless!
Chip
